PICS Staff Update - Ali's Blog

Hi all,

I promised at the MDT that I would try and write a blog. For those who know me realise that I am technically challenged so apologies if this is not as jazzy as I'd like it to be.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to talk to all Picsies about what we are up to so here goes:

Primary Care Update

We are thrilled to announce that the CCG and PICS have agreed an extension to the contract for a potential 2 years. I hope this is some relief to all the staff and KCPCC and Balderton. David is currently working with the CCG to get the contract signed. I would like to thank you all for your patience as I know this has been a difficult time for all staff. Our PPG chair at KCPCC has resigned due to health reasons. Our thoughts are with you Bill.

Some of you may know we are working with a practice in Mansfield North in supporting them at Meden Vale. We are looking to work with the practice on a more permanent footing. Our current work is focusing on looking at the premises issues to move them onto one site.

Stephen, Sally and Gerald are working in Nottingham West, Nottingham North and East and Mid Notts to support practices with their endeavours of working together. If you would like to learn more about this, get in touch and we can let you know some of the work we are doing

Staff Newsletter

Gerald Ellis is working on a staff newsletter to be published in the next few weeks. We hope this will give you information on the range of services that we are providing and an idea of the structure of PICS to help familiarise yourself with the organisation.

Announcements

New Premises

We have expanded our premises at Ashtree Court to move into H3. This has given us more space as we grow our business over the next few years. However, we have been told that we are in the path of HS2 in 2024 so we maybe looking for a new home nearer the time. Photos to follow

Business Development

We now know that the Newark and Sherwood Acute Home Visiting Service contract has been extended until the end of March 2019. We are very happy about that.

The pain services in greater Nottingham have achieved great things in dealing with the huge volume of patients that were transitioned from NUHT.

Advertisements

We have a number of jobs out to advert at the moment for GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners in Mid Notts - if you have colleagues who maybe interested then please let us know. All jobs are advertised on the PICS website and on NHS jobs.

Website revamp

Thank you to the working group that have worked hard on revamping the website. Please take a look at the updated version of our website on http://picsnhs.org.uk/

Any suggestions then please get in touch with Heidi Lewis at heidi.lewis3@nhs.net

I hope you find this useful? I will be looking at updating you all on a regular basis. I am away for 2 weeks but I hope you all have a good summer. For those who work in Mid Notts and see David Ainsworth's snippets he always finishes with an inspiring quote so I am aiming to up the game. I saw this and thought it embodies the spirit of PICS

"You can't fail if you don't quit"
